This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to be a beekeeper intern at SoFi... just kidding... no not really...
This was pretty interesting how it came to be, I think I've given over 40 bottles of honey at SoFi HQ in San Francisco.
During my interview process at SoFi, my recruiter had asked me what made me pick computer science as my major.
I answered, "Well it's a bit odd how I got into it..." and told my story.
TLDR is that I am raised in a family of beekepers... and we had just too much honey. So my dad asked me if I could make a website to sell honey since we had a surplus! Initially I looked into Shopify to create the website, but for a highschooler that didn't make any money, $30/ month was just too much. So I looked into web development, where I could create my own website and e-commerce all customizable with my own code and also most importantly, would allow me to host for free, costing me $0! I enjoyed developing the website so much that's when I knew, and picked computer science as my major.
So when I came into the office when it was time for my internship, my recruiter asked if I had any honey, and of course I did, so I gave some to them. That's when I gave the honey to them and actually other people started wanting the honey... which felt pretty good (free marketing)!
Here are some fellow interns that bought my honey! That was when I only had the glass containers...

Here is me on a weekend doing my honey harvest! I bought these plastic container bottles to be able to ship them across the nation!
